Heat Pipes

Heat pipes are installed along the length of the die in specific locations to redispurse heat throughout the die in a uniform and efficient manner. Heat pipes draw heat from the exit end of the die and redistribute that energy to the critical areas of exothermic reaction within the die. The size and placement of heat pipes is critical when optimizing the processing of complex parts. When done properly, the addition of heat pipes can dramatically improve the quality and processability of a pultruded profile. Line speeds often improve by more than 50%, and as much as 100% in some cases. Additionally, the resulting profile is more fully cured which reduces scrap and also improves paint adherence.
